Positosis – A New Positive Perspective With Chris Toledo

We had an interview with Chris Toledo last month about Benefits of Positosis in the Workplace. Chris was a pro basketball player, was host of The Reebok City Jam Workout, and has lived a life that found purpose in motivating people to tap into The Positosis Movement. He is a Keynote speaker with experience as a speaker for several organizations to improve company culture by the power of Positosis – learning how to turn any situation into a positive!

The story of Positosis

Chris told us the story of how Positosis came to be. It started with 2 things that he loves, his younger sister and basketball. Chris’s sister has scoliosis and this is a condition that affects the curve of someone’s spinal cord often creating pain and problems in the long run. This is often corrected by having to wear a brace for a certain amount of time in order to align the spine into the right posture.

As mentioned before, Chris was a former pro-basketball player and his love for the sport inspired him to take a look at his sister’s condition and to flip the tables. He sees the curve the other way around, it is now pointing up. He marries these ideas and ends up with positosis.

A simple definition of Positosis

To make things simpler, which has become a running theme with our conversation with Chris, we asked him how he would explain this to a 5 year old.

Kids have activities that they love to do, may it be a sport, playing with a friend, or reading–positosis is the feel-good feeling that you get when you’re genuinely enjoying what you’re doing.

What can Positosis do for your life?

Adapting the positosis mindset can help you turn every challenge into opportunities of growth, to view every situation as a means to find solutions instead of dwelling on mistakes. To see the bigger picture and find what really matters in every situation we’ll be dealt with.

3 best qualities of a worker

Alongside the practice of positosis, we asked Chris what are the 3 best qualities a worker has to have to sustain positosis in the workplace.

Comfortable confidence

This is a favorite from our chat with Chris as he explained to us that it’s not about faking it but owning up your authentic self and just sharing that with everyone. Because of this authenticity and being comfortable in our own skin, we can then acclimate to our environment and any situation that comes at us.

Belief

At our core having a strong belief system will carry us through the challenging moments of the workforce. Belief and believing are two different things, what separates them is that belief knows who it is while believing is hoping for the best.

Body language

To be self aware of our own bodies is to be present and in the moment. This quality asks us to be comfortable in our bodies so that the positosis mind is able to project out of us for others to notice and be influenced by.

Our amazing conversation with Chris led to the very start of Positosis which is the mindset in which you can turn every challenge into opportunities of growth. The application of this in our daily lives will help us grow even more and live a fruitful life. Along with the 3 best qualities to sustain Positosis, which are comfortable confidence, belief, and body language, the positosis movement is a great one to partake in.
